Friday and Saturday the 28th Dan Scalf, will be joining us Bio Below2019 S 231 Des Moines WA 98198 206-870-7360Mike De LorenzoMike Broad has been a full time ordained minister of the Assemblies ofGod for 18 years. He is leading a Church in Penkhull, Stoke on Trent,England, as its Senior Minister, along with an Assistant Minister and 2full time Associate Ministers. Penkhull Christian Fellowship(www.pcf.org.uk) has seen significant growth and been responsible forsending out many workers and missionaries into the field.Mike is responsible for the vision and direction of the local church,along with the other general pastoral duties, which include evangelism,counselling, hospital visitation and general care and teaching of themembers of the church. PCF under Mike’s leadership is currently involvedin planning a new building project to accommodate the anticipated growth.Before entering the ministry full time, he was trained as a metallurgistat a local College and University. I subsequently trained in QualityAssurance becoming the Quality Manager of a Valve and Pump ManufacturingCompany. He currently works 1 day per week as a Management Consultant toa group of companies in Staffordshire as well as his full time role inChurch Leadership.In the 18 years as a Minister he studied with various groups and latterlywith Central Christian University in Arkansas, USA.He has been on many Missions and Ministry Trips to The USA, Mexico,Bulgaria and Malaysia, as well as the UK.Mike is a regular speaker on Christian Radio (Cross Rhythms and UCB) andat High Schools in his locality.Daniel Scalf was born in Illinois in 1955. On January 3, 1972 at 7 PM herecieved Christ as savior and was instantly healed of a brain tumor andfilled with the Holy Spirit. A few days later he recieved the call ofGod to Russia and world missions.His first ministry was in his own high school where he led forty otherstudents to faith in Christ. Later the same year he joined the traveingministry of Christ is the Answer and was involved in ministry throughoutthe United States. Living in tents and learning to trust God for hisdaily needs.In 1973, he traveled to Europe on a frieghter arriving with two dollarsin his pocket. Preaching on the streets and in churches, Dan then begansmuggling Bibles behind the iron curtain. He returned to the USA brieflyin 1975 where he served as youth Pastor at Bethesda Assembly of God inMoline, Illinois. In that ministry over 300 teenagers responded to thegospel. Taking small teams to small towns many small fellowships andchurches were begun.Dan returned to Europe working with Open Doors and Brother Andrew,resumed smuggling Bibles in and people out of Russia and eastern Europe.In 1977 returning to Davenport Iowa he became youth Pastor at WestsideAssembly of God under Pastor Tommy Barnett. Also serving with Dan wasPastor Bill Wilson. Bill currently is ministering at Metro Church in theBronx.While serving at Westside he along with several of the young people wasarrested for ministering on the streets. As a result of that arrest, themayor lost the election, and the police chief was forced to resign. Thatarrest led to A Christian boycott and the net result was pornographybeing removed from Davenport for a period of ten years. Also, while at Westside Roger Jepsen ran for and was elected to the USSenate. Dan during one night came up with the idea for scorecards thatare now used in almost every election. In 1979 he moved to Seattle toattend Bible College and quickly got involved in politics. Part of NCPACthey went after the so called dirty dozen of liberal US Senators and sawten of them defeated. At the same time Dan was involved in massivescorecard and voter registration projects with Moral Majority, ChristianVoice Lobby, and American Coalition for Traditional Values.Through the rest of the 80's he stayed involved in pro life and profamily causes as well as religious liberty issues. In 1983 he helpedalong with Tom Minnick and Mike Farris to write and lobby for home schoollegislation in Washington State. In Oregon he consulted and helped theJoe Lutz Senate race as well as the Steve Symms Senate race in Idaho.Arrested along with two State Legislators an off duty police officer anda medical doctor while picketing an abortion clinic in Spokane Dan served36 days in jail. That case went all the way to the US Supreme Court. In1988 returning to Illinois he served on Pat Robertsons campaign in threestates, and then worked George Bush's in five states.In 1990 while serving on a governors race he quit to follow his heart;back to the mission field. The first year planting 12 churches in Poland.In 1992 met Brother B H Clendenen and the School of Christ in Moscow. Dan was highly involved in church planting, evangelism, and aiding thehurting. That ministry is now in 140 countries of this world. Travelingoften to Ossetia, Georgia, and Russia he his friends with Christianleaders on both sides of the border.Currently, Dan's focus is on Humanitarian Aid, Church planting, andkingdom evangelism throughout the world. Having traveled and worked in100 countries and going to the foremer Soviet Union 102 times he brings aunique presprective on geo- political events througout the world and howthey relate to the gospel! .Dan lives on very little all his posssesions fit in a car. His motto inlife is living simply that others might simply live.
